“Can I purchase your work?” – YES! By all means! I sell prints of my work and virtually everything that you see in the gallery is available for purchase. My prints come in all sizes up to 24"x36" and are suitable for framing. On larger size prints, from 11"×14" on up, please allow an extra week to process as it takes my lab longer to print them. For purchase inquiries, please email me at the above link.

“Why do you photograph?”– That is a good question. I do it for the enjoyment I suppose, but also because I like to show the world my little corner of the universe. It is amazing what you start to see and realize when you capture images with a camera. You tend to see things more readily that would have gone unnoticed before. I also photograph for the woman in my life, to share my experiences and my wonderful state. Call me a romantic. She is also a fellow Shutterbug.

“Why Minolta cameras?” — Well, why Minolta…. I have used Minolta for years and I suppose I am quite comfortable with their system. I originally started on a Richoh KR7 manual slr, I then switched to a Minolta X-370 manual slr which I still use for film today. It is also nice in a Canon & Nikon world to be out in the field and have another photographer ask you “what kind of camera is that?” and you reply with Minolta. It kind of catches them off guard. I suppose another reason is the color space (or depth of color) in Minolta digital cameras, it is unmatched.

“How did you get your start?” – Well I attended Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design here in Denver to get a BFA degree in Illustration. During my studies I had to take photography as a requirement. I fell in love with the darkroom. It was an all B&W Film class, and it really had a profound impact on me. I seriously learned so much the classes that I took, combined with all the classes in Photoshop, it became a natural to switch my career after I earned my degree from illustration to photography. In many ways the two are similar, but also quite different.

“Do you edit your pictures?” –These days when I am shooting on my digital slr, I shoot exclusively in RAW mode and editing is mandatory. Consider RAW files like a digital version of a film negative. For my other digital camera and film, my post production work is done inside Photoshop and Paintshop Pro. For converting RAW files I use Raw Shooter.

“What cameras and lenses do you own?” – I use a Minolta s414 digital, a Minolta 5d digital slr, and a Minolta X-370 for film. As far as lenses: Minolta 18-200 DT, Minolta 75-300 D, Minolta 18-70 DT, Minolta Rokkor 100-300, and a Minolta Rokkor 24mm. The 18-200 DT is my favorite, the flexability is really nice to have handy and is generally my walk around lens.

“Where do you live?” –I am fortunate to live in God’s Country, the home of the Colorful Sky–Colorado. Just north of metro Denver. And yes I do love it here! It is a photographers paradise.
